How to Grow and Care for a Xanadu Plant

It's not difficult to take care of Xanadu.

  • Light -

Philodendron xanadu likes bright, indirect light well, and even a small amount of direct sunlight, especially early in the day, will be good for it. If you have this plant in too dark of a place, the stem will grow too long while too direct sunlight can cause the foliage to change into a yellow color.

  • Water requirements -

Keep the potting mix moist but not soggy. Maintain good drainage. Excess water may cause the yellowing of leaves.

  • Fertilizer

Make sure to fertilize them regularly throughout the growing season with a feeding solution that has all the macronutrients for the best results.

  • Pests on Xanadu

Xanadu plant has a high resistance to pests but might get infested by the mealybug. Washing the leaves regularly can help keep pest infestations at bay.

  • Toxicity

Xanadu are poisonous to vertebrates. They contain calcium oxalate crystals which are poisonous and irritating. The sap may cause skin irritation. Chewing or ingesting parts of the plant may result in severe swelling and compromised respiratory functions. According to ASPCA, this plant is toxic to cats and dogs.
